Eligibility

Freshmen

Eligibility Condition

Students whose parents are not Koreans

¡Ø Eligibility recognized only in case one is a Chinese emigrant, and either of the parents and oneself is Taiwanese.
¡Ø Eligibility is not recognized if the applicant changed its nationality from Korean to another country while in high school.
One who has finished all of elementary, middle and high school which are located in Korea or overseas.

Transfer Students

Transfer students should have the equivalent requirements for freshmen eligibility as well as the following.

  1. Junior Transfer Applicants - should satisfy at least one of the following three requirements :
    1. Regular 4-year University Graduate (or graduate expectant)
    2. One who has finished 2 or more years in a regular 4-year university and has achieved more than 60 credits.
    3. College graduate (or graduate expectant)
  2. Sophomore Transfer Applicants
    1. One who has finished more than 1 year in a regular 4-year university and has achieved more than 30 credits.

  • Practical Examinations may be held for arts and physical fitness applicants, and will be included in the interview/oral examination scores.

  • Admission Fee is 100,000 won
  • Students may be required to attend Korean Language Programs at Lingua Express(Korean Language Institute at SMU) if they do not meet the Korean Language skill, which is equivalent to TOPIK level 4(KLPT 370, KFL level 4, KPE level 4). The expenses should be covered by students.
  • If the applicant is staying overseas, and cannot take the admission examination, one can substitute the interview/oral examination with the Korean Proficiency Certificate
    (TOPIK level 4, KLPT 370, KPE level 4) or TOEFL(CBT 200, IBT 72).

  2. If you cannot participate in the interview test due to your staying in overseas, self introduction should be submitted by handwriting.

  • Scholarship will be given to the foreign students who meet the qualifications by recommendation contents, extra curriculum activities, GPA, potential ability and communication skills.
  • Amount of admission fee and tuition will be given according to the standard of applying semester and major.

Notice on Scholarship while in School

  • One must be taking more than 12 credits excluding P/F courses
  • Only given to regular semester (Receiving semester basis: 8semesters)
  • The numbers students on scholarship will be selected by the Admission screening committee members' evaluation .
  • Accommodation fee and flight fee ,etc. could be additional supported though the evaluation.
