The Department of Painting independently researches various painting techniques that emphasize the role of both Oriental and Western painting. Through the course, students are encouraged to develop an international flair, and are trained to respond to contemporary art, which has now blurred the distinctions between Oriental and Western painting genres. Students are further encouraged to deepen their creative power and develop a critical eye through various practices and studies based on accumulated art theories. The Department operates six studies for English presentation in line with the Blue Ribbon Project, the development of global power, the fortification of liberal arts knowledge and so on. Through integrated operation, it provides classes of independent study that incorporate the Oriental painting and Western painting styles.
