The Division of Chinese Language & Literature, initiated as the Department of Chinese Language & Literature in 1972, has been training for 40 years innovative and professional female talent equipped with a high command of the Chinese language and practical ability. Students develop their competence through various forms of learning, such as attending informative and well- prepared lectures on Chinese history, culture, society, economy and other topics, participating in Chinese plays, attending the scholastic symposiums, and engaging in group research. To gain a better understanding of China, students can join the annual cultural trip to China and language course programs in China. The Division of Chinese has established academic ties with more than 30 prestigious universities in China and Taiwan - Beijing University, for one - and is now actively promoting its student exchange program and interchange of scholarship.
