Academics University that forsters creative global citizens imbued with the pride of the Korean people
In the 21st century of globalization, the relationship between Korea and Japan has become unprecedentedly wide-open and complex. The Department of Japanese Studies, founded in 1998, strives to keep abreast of the countries’ current issues. Since Japan is geographically close to Korea, it has been intimately interconnected with Korea in both positive and negative ways throughout history. Still today there are issues remaining between the two countries, and occasional disagreements are anticipated. The Department is putting forth effort to foster positive and active women-leaders who are qualified to handle these bilateral problems and work for improved future relations.
