Nanophysics is the study of the physical and chemical attributes of material when it shrinks to nano size. It also involves research on technology that controls matter at the atomic level. (One nanometer is one billionth, or 10−9, of a meter and it measures about 5 atoms across in length.) This is virtually untouched territory that makes possible the invention of new functional materials and micro-elements. Hence this discipline is now in the limelight for its potential to upgrade the quality of life in the matter of material. In the Department of Nanophysics, students learn basic principles of nanoscience and knowledge of how to apply these to such disciplines as chemistry, biology, materials engineering, and electronics engineering. Through both practical and concrete experiments, a research and technology workforce is coming to the fore in the field of nanoscience.
Purpose of the Education
The education purpose of Department of Applied Physics is to foster the female scientist who will contribute to the realization of own value and the development of national society participating in the era’s request with creative leadership by developing the female’s own capability or propensity.
Education Goal
The Department of Applied Physics puts its goal in the cultivation of female talent who can contribute not only in the research and education fields but also in other professional fields actively by learning the scientific thinking process intensively, which quests the various physical phenomena rather than the scientific facts. Therefore, it educates for the students understand the discrete discernment, logical thinking power, quest power, insight, and structural & comprehensive knowledge through various curriculums. Also, educate the students to act in the computerized society afterward by learning the capability to quest and solve problems using the computer systems. The Department of Applied Physics puts its goal in the cultivation of female talent who can contribute not only in the research and education fields but also in other professional fields actively by learning the scientific thinking process intensively, which quests the various physical phenomena rather than the scientific facts.
