Eduroam
Eduroam(education roaming) is a secure worldwide federated network access service developed for the international research and education community.
Having started in Europe TERENA TF-Mobility in 2003, eduroam has gained momentum throughout the research and education community and is now available in 72 territories.
Eduroam has been broadcasted from March 2013 at National and Public Universities In Korea, provided by 60 campuses of 42 universities including Sookmyung women’s university.
- This service provides per-user, per-session encrypted network access for visitors from participating institutions, without the need to gain guest credentials on arrival to an eduroam enabled location. When you visit domestic or international universities or research institutes, if you find ‘eduroam’ SSID, your id and password for eduroam service is same as your portal ones?

How to use eduroam
Select eduroam from the list of available Wi-Fi networks for notebook and mobile devices(tablet/mobile phone)
- Eduroam for Sookmyung users
- Enter ID & Password (ID/Password: Sookmyung Portal ID@sookmyung.ac.kr/ Wi-Fi Password)
- Access to wireless devices in the same way as Wi-Fi authentication methods at this university
- If authentication has completed, you can use a Wi-Fi.
- Eduroam for visitors to Sookmyung
- Connect to the eduroam secure WiFi network using your credentials from your home institution
- Access to wireless devices in the same way as Wi-Fi authentication methods at your university(institution)
- If authentication has completed, you can use a Wi-Fi.
- When you don't have or know your eduroam ID
- Currently enrolled person authorized to use the eduroam
- You have already created ID registered with the eduroam site
- Your eduroam ID is similar to your e-mail or each home institution portal ID/Password
- Contact/inquiry: IT Service Center, Office of home institution

Partly service can be limited according to the wireless management policies of each education institution.
