Educational Objectives:
IT engineering aims to educate talents in IT technology who can contribute to the development of software that benefits all human lives. As IT software and technology, including AI and big data, lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution and extend beyond a single field, they are becoming core technologies that can be applied across all industries. Consequently, the demand for skilled IT professionals who can develop software that helps people in various aspects of life is higher than ever before. In line with this, the educational objective of the IT engineering department is to cultivate professionals who possess both the technical theories and practical skills required for smart software development and the integration of IT technology with human needs.
Educational Goals:
In line with the smart era where IT devices coexist in our daily lives, the IT engineering department at Sookmyung Women's University educates students on advanced IT technologies and women-friendly software. Sookmyung has specialized the department into three tracks to cultivate software professionals who are in demand in future growth industries and IT convergence fields. These tracks include the Solution Track, which focuses on developing solutions for various smart devices such as mobile and wearable devices; the Data Engineering Track, which covers techniques for collecting, managing, and analyzing data; and the Affective Computing Track, which aims to maximize the incorporation of human characteristics and emotions into software and intelligent IT devices. Students receive concentrated education in these specialized tracks to meet the demands of the industry.
