117 years ago, Sookmyung Women's University embarked on its journey as the first women's history school in Korea, a legacy that continues to resonate powerfully today.
In times of adversity, Sookmyung has remained steadfast in upholding its core values and fostering hope, earning its rightful place as the cradle of women's education in Korea. We have forged a new era of women's leadership.
Through groundbreaking achievements such as establishing the world's first mobile campus, being recognized as the UNESCO-designated leading women's information technology university in the Asia-Pacific region, pioneering the establishment of the first women's Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) in Korea, and prioritizing the comprehensive development of the College of Engineering in preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
With our unwavering commitment to make a difference in the world, Sookmyung now stands at the threshold of a new challenge. Embracing the era of the New Normal, digital advancements, and artificial intelligence, we proudly declare our vision to become the "foremost digital humanities university in the world" by 2030.
To realize this vision, we will embark on a journey of digital convergence innovation, foster innovation through our startup incubator, and embrace the principles of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) to guide our practices. Our aim is to propel Sookmyung to the forefront as a globally recognized institution.
