      • Myungshin Girls’ School is established with financial support from Empress Sunheon (Kyungseon Palace). Mrs. Lee, Jeong Sook becomes the first principal.

      • Professor Odashogo becomes the first principal of the college. The school is opened with 40 students in the Department of Housecrafts, 40 students in the Department of Arts and 50 students in the Department of Teaching.

      • The main building, small auditorium and dormitory are constructed (total floor space of 1,618 pyeong).

      • Professor Lim, Sookjae, Doctor of Law, becomes the principal
  • 1948

      • The college is promoted to 'Sookmyung Women's College' and establishes various departments in the Division of Literature and the Division of Science (Department of Korean Language and Literature, Arts and Music and Domestic Science).

      • The school operates temporarily in Dongdaesin-dong, Pusan due to the Korean War.
