      • The names of the Asia Pacific Women's Information Network Center and the Global Human Resources Development Center were changed to the Asia Pacific Women's Information Network Center and the Center for Global HRD, respectively.
      • An integrated Graduate and Ph.D. Course was established at the General Graduate School, within 20% of the Ph.D. course capacity (effective 1st semester of 2006).

      • The library renovation project was successfully completed, which included the installation of the double-story World Women's Literature Center (expanded the floor by 397.61m²).
      • Dr. Lee Kyung-Sook, who holds a Ph.D. in Political Science, was appointed as the 16th President of the university.

      • The Korean Food Institute (an affiliated research institute), was transferred into the affiliated research facilities, and the Research Institute for Legalization of a Knowledge Industry (a new affiliated research institute), was established.

      • The Women's Health Research Institute (an affiliated research institute), newly established the Bio-Resources Center and the Clinical Support Team.

      • A newly constructed Graduate School Building, named the “Veritas Building,” with a total area of 8,363.26m², was completed. Additionally, the lecture room for the Korean Food Institute was expanded to 180m².

      • In the 1st semester of 2007, the following changes and establishments took place

        1. 1. The Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality Management Major was newly installed at the Division of Culture & Tourism, with a capacity of 80 people.
        2. 2. The Integrated Graduate School of Public Policy and Graduate School of Techno Business Administration under the Graduate School of Professional Studies (GSPS) were merged to form the Graduate School of Public Policy and Industry, with a capacity of 43 students. Five majors, including Marketing, were removed.
        3. 3. The Graduate School of Design changed its name to the Graduate School of Life Style Design and removed nine majors, including Visual Design Majors.
        4. 4. The Fashion Design Major changed its name to Fashion Coordination Design Major and giving it a new name, Living Style Design Major.
        5. 5. The Social Pharmacy Major was newly established within the Graduate School of Clinical Pharmacy.
        6. 6. The Piano Pedagogy, Golf Management, and Beauty Art Majors were newly installed within the Graduate School of Social Education.
        7. 7. The Sookmyung Hospitality Business School was established as one of the Expert Graduate Schools, with a capacity of 20 people for day classes and 20 people for evening classes.

      • In the 1st semester of 2007, the following changes and establishments took place within the General Graduate Schools:

        1. 1. Newly established the Telecommunications, Design, and Visual Art Ph.D. Courses.
        2. 2. Reduced the capacity of the Graduate Courses at the General Graduate Schools by 10, resulting in a capacity of 394 students. This reduction was done to establish the Graduate School of Business.
        3. 3. Integrated the Department of Craft Art and the Department of Painting into the Visual Arts Department.
        4. 4. Transferred the History of Arts Department from the Fine Arts Category to the Humanities Section.

      • In the Office of Academic Affairs, the following changes and installations were made:

        1. 1. Installed the Education Media e-Learning Support Team within the Center for Teaching and Learning.
        2. 2. Removed the Human Science Information Team, Social Science Information Team, and Natural Science, Art & Sports Information Team in the Library.
        3. 3. Newly installed the Collection Development Team, Information Service Team, and Serials Information Management Team in the Library, which serves as an annexed facility.
        4. 4. Changed the name of the Electronic Resources Services Team to the Electronic Resources Supporting Services Team.
      • Regarding the Division of Computer & Information Science, the following changes were made: Reallocated the admission unit of the Division of Computer & Information Science, which previously had 120 students, to the Computer Science Major with a capacity of 85 students and the Multimedia Science Major with a capacity of 35 students. This reallocation adjusted the distribution of students between the two majors.

      • The Department of Multimedia Science in the doctoral course of the General Graduate School was established (effective 2nd semester of 2007).

      • The land of 370m² located at 1069 Sinheuk-dong, Boryeong, Chungnam, was sold as it was enlisted for the "Daecheon Beach #3 Zone Construction Project." Additionally, the faculty dormitory, specifically #826 of the Samchang Officetel with an exclusive area of 38.45m², situated at 173 Dohwa-Dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, was also sold as it was no longer in use.
      • Furthermore, the name of Sookmyung Broadcasting System, an auxiliary facility, was changed to Sookmyung Visual Media Center, and the organization was restructured accordingly

      • A newly installed Affiliated Research Institute, called The Research Institute of Culture, Art, and Tourism, was established. Additionally, the name of the Communication Capability Development Center in the Office of Academic Affairs was changed to the Communication Development Center.

      • A building with an area of 1,290.73m² and land measuring 257.5m², located at 118-48 Cheongpa 3-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, was purchased for the purpose of establishing an educational research facility.

      • The Social Education Science Research Institute (an affiliated research institute) was closed, and its research function was merged into the Research Institute of Korean Unification.

      • The Yeonghwa Building, with a total area of 1,453.4m² and land area of 636.7m², was purchased at 53 Cheongpa 2 dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for the purpose of an education research facility. The University Press, an affiliated facility, was removed. Additionally, the Women's Study Cooperation, which had a capacity of 15 students in the master's course of the General Graduate School, was removed, and the admission quota for the doctoral course was increased by 10 students.

      • The Cyber Training Institute for Teachers (an affiliated facility) was removed and the Knowledge Legislation Research Institute changed its name to the Law Research Institute.

      • The Research Institute of Regional Studies merged with The Research Institute of Korean Unification, and the name was changed to The Research Institute for Multicultural Studies. Additionally, following the extension of the curriculum in the College of Pharmacy to 6 years, the admission quota of 80 students in the College of Pharmacy was reallocated as follows: 28 students to the College of Liberal Arts (including the Division of Humanities, Culture & Tourism Major, and Division of Culture & Tourism, and Division of English Language & Literature), 25 students to the College of Science (including the Division of Natural Science, Division of Biological Science, Division of Mathematics & Statistics, Computer Science Major in the Division of Computer & Information Science, and Multimedia Science Major), 10 students to the College of Human Ecology (including the Division of Family & Child Welfare, Division of Human Ecology), 12 students to the College of Social Sciences (including the Division of Political Science & Public Administration, Division of Communication), and 5 students to the College of Economics & Business Administration (including the Division of Economics).
      • The apartment, with an exclusive area of 59.97m², located at #103-1203 Samsung Raemian Gongdeok 2nd Apartment, 43 Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, was purchased for the purpose of establishing a dormitory facility.

      • The land measuring 3,658.95m² and the building covering 2,275m² (13 lots) located at 121-3 Cheongpadong 1-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, were purchased from the Korea Tenrikyo Foundation for the purpose of establishing an education research facility.
      • Additionally, the apartment with an exclusive area of 59.96m², situated at #301-2201 Singongdeok 3rd Samsung Raemian Apartment, 161 Singongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, was acquired for the purpose of establishing a dormitory facility.

      • The Department of Dance (Dance Major) was newly established in the doctoral course of the Graduate School. Furthermore, an apartment with an exclusive area of 59.97m², located at #106-2003 Samsung Raemian Gongdeok 2nd Apartment, 43 Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-Gu, Seoul, was purchased for the purpose of establishing a dormitory facility.

The Department of French Language & Literature in the master’s course was changed to the Department of French Language & Culture. The Department of French Language & Literature in the doctoral course was changed to the Department of French Language & Culture. The Department of Education and the Department of Educational Psychology in the master’s course were combined to form the Department of Education.
      • Additionally, the Admissions Officer Team was installed in the Office of Admissions. Furthermore, the construction of the dormitory (Myeongjaegwan) spanning 12,584.61m² (3,807 pyeong) was completed.

      • The International Affairs Team of the Office of External Relations changed its name to the International Affairs Team. Additionally, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Team under the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation was divided into the Industry-Academic Cooperation Planning Team and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Management Team.

      • The SIS Immunology Research Center was newly established in the Women's Health Research Institute. Furthermore, after receiving approval from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and meeting the license amendment condition of the execution plan of the Urban Plan Facility Project (School), according to the construction of dormitory, a road measuring 69.3m² at 1-182 Cheongpa 2-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul was donated to the Yongsan-gu Office. In addition, the Hospitality Management Major in the Sookmyung Hospitality Business School was renamed as the Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality Management Major.

      • The newly constructed #123-1202 Banpo Xi Apartment (with an exclusive area of 84.998m²) was part of the reconstruction of the dormitory facility which replaced the previous dormitory facility located at #319-104 Banpo Jugong #3 Complex Apartment, 20-1 Banpo 1 dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul (with an exclusive area of 49.98m²).
      • Additionally, the Admissions Planning Team, Admissions Management Team, and Admissions Officer Team of the Office of Admissions were combined and adjusted to form the Admissions Team and Admissions Appraisal Official Team.
      • A new Evaluation & Audit Team was established within the Office of Strategy & Planning.

      • The Business Incubation Center #1 (327.31m²) and #2 (243.21m²) buildings were demolished and discontinued.

      • The Korean Cultural Institute was newly established as an auxiliary facility.

      • The School of Global Service was newly established, offering majors in Global Cooperation (with a capacity of 28 students) and Entrepreneurship (with a capacity of 20 students). This change was effective from the 1st term of 2010. Additionally, following the curriculum extension of the College of Pharmacy to 6 years, the 80 admissions capacity previously allocated to the College of Pharmacy was redistributed as follows: 10 students to the College of Liberal Arts (Division of Humanities, Culture & Tourism Major in the Division of Culture & Tourism, and Division of English Language & Literature), 7 students to the College of Science (Division of Natural Science, Division of Biological Science, Division of Mathematics & Statistics, Computer Science Major in the Division of Computer & Information Science, and Multimedia Science Major), 6 students to the College of Human Ecology (Division of Family & Child Welfare, Division of Human Ecology), 5 students to the College of Social Sciences (Division of Political Science & Public Administration, Division of Communication), 4 students to the College of Economics & Business Administration (Division of Economics), and 48 students to the School of Global Service (Global Cooperation Major, Entrepreneurship Major).
      • Furthermore, the Creative Leadership Research Center, which was an auxiliary facility of the Sookmyung Global Leadership Institute, was removed.

      • The Academy-R&D-Industry Cooperation course of the Rural Development Administration was newly established in the master’s and doctoral courses of the Graduate School and the Department of Biological Science and the Department of Food & Nutrition were assigned as its operating departments (effective 1st term of 2010).
      • The Admissions Planning Center was newly established in the Office of Admissions, and the Admissions Officer Team was positioned accordingly. Additionally, the Women's HRD Research Center, which was an attached organization of The Research Institute of Asian Women, was removed.

      • The Student Cafeteria, Myeongsingwan, was expanded by an additional 135m² (41 pyeong).

The Communication Development Center, previously under the Office of Academic Affairs, was assigned to the General Education Institute. The MATE (Multimedia Assisted Test of English) Office in the International Institute of Language Education was removed. Lastly, land measuring 485.7m² and a building measuring 641.06m² located at 71-142 Cheongpadong 2-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, were purchased for the purpose of dormitory and education research facilities.

          • • Chinese Language & Literature Major was reorganized to the Division of Chinese Language & Literature (Quota 90).
          • • German Language & Culture Major was reorganized to the Department of German Language & Literature (Quota 25).
          • • Japan Studies Major was reorganized to the Department of Japan Studies (Quota 40).
          • • Library & Information Science Major was reorganized to the Department of Library & Information Science (Quota 30).
          • • Division of English Language & Literature was reorganized to the independent Division of English Language & Literature (Quota 122, including 24 TESL Major students). TESL Major was installed in the Division of English Language & Literature.

          • • Physics Major was reorganized to the Nano Physics Major (Quota 24).
          • • Chemistry Major was reorganized to the Department of Chemistry (Quota 50).
          • • Division of Biological Science was reorganized to the Department of Biological Science (Quota 50).
          • • Mathematics Major was reorganized to the Department of Mathematics (Quota 41).
          • • Statistics Major was reorganized to the Department of Statistics (Quota 50).
          • • Computer Science Major was reorganized to the Division of Computer Science (Quota 75).
          • • Multimedia Science Major was reorganized to the Department of Multimedia Science (Quota 40).
          • • A new department, the Department of Medical & Pharmaceutical Science, was installed (Quota 20).

          • • Quota adjustments were made for the Department of Vocal Music and Department of Composition (reduced to 29 students each).
        7. 7. College of Fine Arts:
          • • Visual & Multimedia Design Major was reorganized to the Department of Visual & Multimedia Design (Quota 40).
          • • Industrial Design Major was reorganized to the Department of Industrial Design

      • The Disabled Student Support Center was newly installed in the Office of Student Affairs to provide support and assistance to disabled students.

      • The Department of Industrial Pharmacy was reorganized, and the Department of Manufacturing Pharmacy was newly established (effective 1st semester of 2011).

      • The university purchased land measuring 211.6m² and a building measuring 347.81m² at 89-70 Cheongpadong 1-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for the purpose of dormitory and education research facilities.
      • Additionally, the university also acquired 4 lots of land measuring 6363.8m² and a building measuring 746.25m² (consisting of 3 private houses located behind the Grand Auditorium) at 47-20 Cheongpadong 2-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for the purpose of dormitory and education research facilities.

      • The university acquired land measuring 397.7m² and a building measuring 656.88m² at 2-2 Hyochang-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for the purposes of dormitory and education research facilities.
      • Additionally, the Yeonghwa Building, with an area of 1,453.41m² (440 pyeong), was demolished and no longer exists.

      • The university newly established the doctoral course of the Academy-R&D-Industry Cooperation of the Korea Food & Drug Administration in the Graduate School. The operating departments for this program include the Department of Biological Science, Department of Food & Nutrition, Department of Pharmacy, and Department of Teacher Education office (effective 1st semester of 2011).)
      • Additionally, the Grand Auditorium, with an area of 3,774.83m² (1,142 pyeong), was demolished and no longer exists.

      • The Manufacturing Pharmacy Faculty Operation Team in the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) were newly established at the university.

      • The construction of the ground parking lot facility (101 vehicles) and 4 small sized buildings, including the ATM booth (5.94m²), the Dormitory guard post (3.96m²), the Science Building guard post (7.92m²), and the Library guard post (3.96m²) were completed behind the Grand Auditorium.

      • The university underwent several organizational changes and installations:

        1. 1. Reorganization of the Office of Information & Communication Affairs: The office was restructured and renamed as the Office of Knowledge & Information Technology.
        2. 2. Center for Teaching and Learning: The Center for Teaching and Learning, which was previously under the Office of Academic Affairs, was moved to the Office of Knowledge & Information Technology.
        3. 3. Changes in Teams: As part of the reorganization, the Education Media e-Learning Support Team in the Center for Teaching and Learning was removed. Additionally, the IT Planning & Operation Team and Information System Team were discontinued. In their place, the Knowledge & Information Management Team and Knowledge & Information System Team were newly established.
        4. 4. Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC): The ROTC, previously an auxiliary facility, was restructured as a department under the direct control of the university president.
        5. 5. Academic Affairs Team: A new Academic Affairs Team was established specifically within the College of Pharmacy.

      • The English Language & Literature Major was newly established in the Division of English Language & Literature of College of Liberal Arts. The Department of Hotel and Restaurant Management was newly established in the master’s course of General Graduate School (effective 2nd semester of 2011).

      • A new major in English Language and Literature was established in the Department of English Language and Literature in the College of Liberal Arts (effective 1st semester of the 2012 academic year).
      • A new program in Food Service Management was established in the master's course of the Graduate School (effective 2nd semester of the 2011 academic year).

        1. 1. Office of Research Affairs: A new Office of Research Affairs was established to oversee and support research activities at the university.
        2. 2. Sookmyung Heritage Hall: Sookmyung Heritage Hall was newly installed as an auxiliary facility.
        3. 3. Center for Child-care Foodservice Management: A new Center for Child-care Foodservice Management was established.
        4. 4. Research Institute of Design: The name of the Affiliated Research Institute "The Research Institute of Industrial Design" was changed to the "Research Institute of Design."
        5. 5. Department of Telecommunications to Department of Communication & Media: The Department of Telecommunications in the General Graduate School was renamed as the Department of Communication & Media.
        6. 6. Human Resource Development Policy course: A new interdisciplinary doctoral cooperative course, the Human Resource Development Policy course, was installed in the General Graduate School.

      • The Sookmyung Heritage Hall was opened and the construction of the Multipurpose Building with an area of 528. 46m² (160 pyeong) was completed.
        Land measuring 408.3m² and a building spanning 316.11m² were acquired at 48-2 Cheongpadong 2-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for the establishment of an education research facility.

      • The Academic Affairs Team was newly established in the Graduate School of Education. The Sookmyung Heritage Hall, previously an auxiliary facility, was reorganized as a subsidiary organization under the museum. Additionally, the Cell Fate Control Research Center was newly established as a subsidiary organization under The Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

      • In the Graduate School of International Relations, the major in Human Security and International Organizations was changed to Global Security Cooperation, and the major in Sports Diplomacy was changed to Sports and Public Diplomacy (effective 2nd semester of the 2012 academic year).
      • A startup incubation center with an area of 2,187.87㎡ (661.83 pyeong) was completed.
      • The property located at 48-2, Cheongpa-dong 2-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with the land area of 408.3㎡ and the building area of 316.11㎡, was purchased to be utilized as an educational research facility.

      • A new major in Global Environmental Studies as a linked major was established, and the major in Security and Military Studies were changed to Security Studies.

      • The building named Myeongshin Hall was expanded by 1,006.14㎡ (304.36 pyeong).

      • A new Department of Life Systems Science was established in the master's and doctoral programs of the Graduate School (implemented in the 2013 academic year).
      • Through the administrative organizational restructuring, the following changes were made: 3 divisions were established; 8 departments were formed; 10 affiliated institutions were created; 16 subsidiary agencies were established; 18 subsidiary research institutes were restructured; the existing Industry-Academia Cooperation Division was transformed into a direct reporting
      • organization; 7 affiliated institutions fell under the supervision of the four direct reporting organizations; 11 departments became subsidiary institutions under the seven affiliated institutions; and 17 research institutes became subsidiary research institutes under the four direct reporting organizations.
      • The divisions were renamed as direct reporting organizations, and the Industry-Academia Cooperation Division was restructured as a direct reporting organization. Within the direct reporting organizations, a new Future Strategy Office was established, and within the Future Strategy Office, a Future Strategy Team was created. The Sookmyung Leadership Development Institute was removed.
      • The Faculty Development Center, which was under the Knowledge Information Office, was transferred to the Academic Affairs Office.
      • A new Research Planning Team was established within the Research Support Center of the Research Office. The affiliated institution, Sookmyung Entrepreneurship Center, was reorganized as the Entrepreneurship Support Team within the Startup Incubation Center under the Research Office. The affiliated institution, Korean Food Research Institute, was restructured as a subsidiary institution under the Research Office.
      • The Admissions Development Center was renamed as the Admissions Planning and Management Center. Within the Admissions Planning and Management Center, the Admissions Affairs Team and the Admissions Team were established.
      • The Student Culture and Welfare Team under the Student Affairs Office was renamed as the Student Support Team, and the Student Service Team under the Student Service Center was renamed as the Scholarship Team.
      • A new Social Volunteer Center was established under the Student Affairs Office, and the Social Volunteer Office was reorganized as the Social Volunteer Team under the Social Volunteer Center. The Disability Student Support Center was reorganized as the Disability Student Support Team and placed under the Social Volunteer Center.
      • A new affiliated institution, Sookmyung Media Center, was established under the Student Affairs Office. The affiliated institution, Video and Media Center, was renamed as the Video and Media Team and placed under the Sookmyung Media Center along with Sookdae Shinbo Company.
      • The affiliated institution, Health Clinic, was renamed as the Health and Medical Center and placed under the Student Affairs Office as a subsidiary institution.
      • The dormitories, Student Life Counseling Center, and Gender Equality Counseling Center were reorganized as subsidiary institutions under the Student Affairs Office.

      • The Strategic Planning Team under the Planning Office was renamed as the Operations and Management Team, and the Evaluation and Audit Office was renamed as the Evaluation and Management Office.
      • A new International Cooperation Center was established under the Office of External Relations, and the International Exchange Team and International Student Support Team were created within the center.

      • The Museum, Jung Yeong-Yang Embroidery Museum, Calligraphy and Fine Arts Museum, and Sookmyung History Museum were transferred to Sookmyung Cultural Center. The Art History Team within the Museum was removed, and a new Cultural Planning Team was established within the Sookmyung Cultural Center.
      • The Career Development Team within the Career Development Center was renamed as the Employment Support Team, and a new Career Development Team was established within the Career Development Center.
      • The General Education Institute was renamed as the Leadership General Education Institute, and the Competency Development Center was renamed as the Leadership Competency Development Center. The General Education Center under the General Education Institute was removed.

The Remote Education Engineering major in the Remote Graduate School was changed to Educational Technology major, and the Silver Industry major in the Remote Graduate School to Silver Business major.
      • The Beauty Arts major in the Graduate School of Social Education was moved to the Lifestyle Design Graduate School as the Beauty Arts major. Additionally, the Leadership Education major in the Graduate School of Social Education was moved to the Graduate School of Women's Human Resources Development as the Leadership Education major.
