The “AI Startup School With Seoul” program to foster startups in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), jointly offered by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Google, will be held at Sookmyung for six weeks, starting with an orientation on Tue, Mar. 5.

The AI Startup School With Seoul is a participatory educational program in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Google to nurture early and aspiring entrepreneurs in the field of AI, a key industry of the future. Seoul is the first city in the world to host this AI-specific program, which is run by Google Startup Campus, a community of entrepreneurs created by Google.

Last year, Sookmyung successfully held the world’s first university Startup School program in collaboration with Google Startup Campus. This relationship led us to host this program again at our campus in the heart of Seoul.

About 800 people attended the AI Startup School With Seoul orientation at Snow Flower Square Hall, including President Chang Yun-keum, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, Google Korea Country Director Kim Kyoung-hoon, and Google Startup Campus Asia-Pacific Head Mike Kim.

During the orientation, educational sessions were held where successful AI startup entrepreneurs shared their practical experiences and success tips. Kwon Seo-hyeon, CEO of Munice, a recipient of the Google Women Founders Fund; Jeong Ga-hye, CTO of AI-based property technology company Zenerate; Mark Tetto, Co-CEO of TCK Investments, a startup venture investment expert; and JoCoding, a Korean YouTube creator of coding content, discussed the growth of startups and how AI can be used, setting the direction for the AI Startup School With Seoul.

The program will be held every Tuesday for six weeks from Mar. 5 (the first day of the event) to Apr. 9 at Snow Flower Square Hall. The program covers a wide range of the latest technology trends, from entrepreneurship to AI and cloud, focusing on strengthening problem-solving skills through experiential learning, where participants work in groups with other trainees.

The first session ─Entrepreneurship Workshop─ on Mar. 5 provided an in-depth look at how to solve problems and leverage technology in a startup. Upcoming sessions include strategic product storytelling, customer acquisition strategies through Google Ads, leadership principles for success, AI and cloud tools for startups, and talks with founders of innovative AI startups.
