Faculty and staff at Sookmyung Women's University have raised over 15 million won for the cause to overcome Coronavirus-19.
From March 9th to 15th, Sookmyung Women's University conducted a fundraising for Coronavirus-19 for faculty members. A total of 15 million won was collected by a total of 233 teachers and staff members who participated during the week-long fundraising. The donation will be delivered to the Korea Disaster Relief Association (Hope Bridge) on the 25th, and will be used for Coronavirus-19 detainees, quarantines, and medical institution workers.
The fundraising is said to have started as teachers, who were inspired by the Coronavirus-19 donation started by students in early March, actively announced their willingness to participate. The Office of Communication & PR that carried out the campaign said, “We began a separate fundraising campaign to add strength to the loving helping hands that students showed,” and “We will do our part as a university that coexists with the local and the entire community in line with Sookmyung’s long history and tradition of lending a helping hand to those in need.”
