Sookmyung signs an AI/data human resource development agreement with KISTI

On November 6th, Sookmyung Women’s University and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology

Information (KISTI) signed a business agreement on fostering AI-data-linked convergence talent at

Sookmyung’s administrative office.

 

This agreement was made to develop mutual academic collaboration between talented students in the field of

artificial intelligence (AI) and data linked convergence in order to establish leadership in the data economy

through the utilization and diffusion of the science, technology, and academic infrastructures from both

organizations. 

 


 

Both organizations have agreed to promote the following. ▲ Training of experts in artificial intelligence (AI),

big data, and supercomputing ▲ Collaborative use of supercomputing and data infrastructure for academic

activities and human resource development ▲ Development and management of joint curriculum, internships,

and mentoring to develop excellent human resources ▲Joint utilization of data, technologies, programs, etc.

related to technology commercialization owned by both organizations ▲Discovery and Implementation of joint

R&D projects and technology commercialization ▲ Co-hosting workshops, academic conferences, seminars,

etc. and exchange of related information ▲ Promoting the establishment of a virtual unified campus through

joint development and management of online education and lectures.

 

KISTI is a major Korean research center in the field of Science and Information Technology established in 1962.

It possesses Korea's largest science and technology information as well as world-class supercomputing and data

analysis technology. It also serves as a national institution that provides science and technology services, which

are the core components that necessary to create an intelligent information society.

 

Through this agreement, Sookmyung Women’s University plans to utilize a shared data infrastructure with

KISTI to establish a joint curriculum to foster data professionals in the era of the fourth industrial revolution and

further cooperate in joint R&D and technology commercialization.

 

President Yunkeum Chang said that she expects to build a leading cloud campus that combines the infrastructure

and know-how of the two organizations in order to produce female professionals with exceptional skills in the

fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science.
