Sookmyung Women’s University’s Campus Town Project Group, together with Amazon Web Services Korea (AWS Korea), announced the launch of TripleS, a start-up support program to foster next-generation start-ups and promote innovation in the public sector.

TripleS is a program prepared to help start-ups conduct business on a stable basis through infrastructure support and technical consultation for start-ups in technology-based industries such as web services and SaaS. The name was created after the “s” letters in Sookmyung, AWS, and Start-up, and it contains the meaning of maximizing the performance of young entrepreneurs through synergy between participating entities.

All companies residing in Campus Town are supported by the TripleS program and receive resources such as AWS promotional credits, training, and support. The project group plans to support start-ups by providing AWS cloud discounts, cloud architecture design consulting, and technology and business-related seminars from June to December this year, and a special program is also being prepared to support female entrepreneurs. Through this support, the Campus Town Project Group and AWS Korea are expected to lower the entry barriers for IT technology in the early stage of start-up and contribute to revitalizing student start-ups, creating jobs for young people, and alleviating employment problems.

Among the campus town project groups of universities in Seoul, Sookmyung Women’s University is the first to collaborate with AWS Korea to support start-ups. Through this collaboration, the two institutions have laid the foundation for developing practical and diverse support programs for the success of start-ups.

“As a mecca for women’s education and start-ups in Korea, we will take the lead in expanding the field in which female entrepreneurs can become active by using IT technology,” said Cheol-yeon Kim, Dean of the Campus Town Project Group, to present his collaboration vision with AWS Korea.

Su-jung Lee, Head of AWS Education and Healthcare Project, said, “We hope that the latest cloud technology and expertise provided by the TripleS program can help start-ups launch their businesses more easily and conveniently, and accelerate innovation.”
