The '2013 Winter Senegal ISM University Overseas Dispatch Program' conducted by KCI in January is a program that has been continuing for 4 years since 2010, with the purpose of stimulating academic cultural exchange between Korea and Senegal, strengthening friendship between the two countries, and promoting our university to attract excellent new students. In summer, last year, members of ISM University visited our university to experience Korean companies and the Korean business environment.

On January 17 and 18, a 'Night of Korean Culture' was held at the ISM Dakar campus and Saint-Louis campus, which around 150 people participated in, including ISM students, Korean embassy personnel and local people. The night included a K-pop dance performance and performances of Korean songs. ISM students also had the opportunity to get a glimpse into our culture through events such as painting an Oriental painting, calligraphy, making a traditional Korean fan and mask, and a Korean cooking experience.

A student who took part in the program, dispatch group representative Su-ji Park, a student (Department of Chinese language and literature 11, Sookmyung Cultural Exchange Group - 6th generation Vice President) said, "Last year, we experienced various Korean cultural programs with ISM University students who visited our university. I was happy to reunite with them through this visit," and added, "We have different languages and nationalities, but we were able to fully understand each other and become one through the medium of culture."

A KCI personnel said, "The Korean Cultural Institute plans to co-host a Korea-Africa culture and arts forum with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in May, this year, and will continue exchange with ISM through events such as ISM MBA program students visiting us to learn about the Korean culture and economy."
