In collaboration with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities and Korea National University of Welfare, Sookmyung Women’s University held the “2021 Together Job Fair,” an online job fair based on metaverse that takes into account COVID-19 and the characteristics of MZ-generation disabled college students, for two days from December 16(Thu) to 17(Fri).

This metaverse-based job fair was held in the form of joint operation by Sookmyung Women's University (Seoul area) and Korea National University of Welfare (Gyeongin area), which are colleges selected by the Ministry of Education for career employment projects for students with disabilities, and Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. It provided information on participation in public and private organizations related to the recruitment briefing session, information on employment support projects, and job search groups and recruitment tour groups.

This program, prepared by reflecting the opinions of college students with disabilities, became a venue for festivals full of information and entertainment. It provided convenience for college students with disabilities through chatting between avatars, as well as arranging stenographers and sign language interpreters, and provided information such as various events and performances, meeting with working seniors, and gifting of souvenirs for participants. In addition, it has become an effective place for exchange and communication to support the preparation for employment of students with disabilities amidst the COVID-19 situation.

Director Yun-seon Song of the Center for Students with Disabilities, said, "We plan to continue expanding programs that go beyond academic support for students with disabilities in colleges to help them find careers and employment."
