Our university enters 'Global Best' business and academic cooperation with Disney Channel

Our university signed the 'Global Best' business and academic cooperation letter of intent with Disney Channel on Feb. 4 (Mon) at the university's video conference room. The signing was attended by the President of Sookmyeong University, Hwang Sun-hye, and President of Disney Channel Korea, Kim Mun-yeon, along with the committee and members of each organization.
On this day, our university agreed to work together in educational and human resource businesses related to infant and children education as well as development of media industry. Our university was the first in the country to establish child welfare studies and operate Sookmyung Child Study Center since 1974, and currently known as the birthplace of infant and child education in Korea. Based on such deep tradition and know-how, this agreement will establish a cooperative system with the Disney Channel for operating child care center and preschool which will be built at Sookmyeong. Through this, rich video educational materials are planned to be provided and shared among the organizations.
Both organizations also agreed to collaborate in internship programs and job opportunities to foster global female talents who will work on-site in the media industry. For this purpose, there are further plans to continuously exchange information relating to additional academic and business cooperation if necessary.
Cable TV Disney Channel, part of the Walt Disney media group in the U.S., established a separate company in May 2011. With this new beginning, the company is starting broadcasting services with various businesses based on rich media contents. Our university will be the first in the country to venture into business with the international media group, Walt Disney.
