Sookmyung Women’s University and Minerva University signed an MOU to establish education partnership

- “The 1st Sookmyung-Minerva School” will be launched from the 2022 academic year, and various exchange programs will be conducted as a base university in Korea.

 


 

On October 14th (Thu), Sookmyung Women’s University President Yunkeum Chang went on a business trip to California, USA, and signed an MOU with Minerva University, which is attracting attention as a world-class innovative university, and started a full-fledged step towards globalization of the university. Through this agreement, Sookmyung Women’s University will start various exchange programs as a Korean base university of Minerva University from the 2022 academic year.

 

Minerva University is one of the world's leading universities of the future, setting the stage on a global scale. It is an educational innovation university that has presented a new paradigm of higher education. Recently, its practical influence has been recognized to be top 3 in the world following MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Stanford University.

 

President Chang visited Minerva University in San Francisco on the 15th (Fri) and signed an MOU with Teri Cannon, the Founding President. The presidents of both schools agreed to share and cooperate with a future education development plan through continuous cooperation.

 

With this agreement as an opportunity, the “1st Sookmyung-Minerva School” will be launched from the 2022 academic year. Students at the University of Minerva travel through seven cities (San Francisco, Taipei, Seoul, Hyderabad, Berlin, Buenos Aires, London) during their four-year university life. For the next two years, about 170 students from 50 countries of Minerva University will visit Seoul every semester to take the Sookmyung Women's University program and interact with the students of the university.

 

In addition, a joint consultative body between Sookmyung Women’s University’s Education Innovation Institute and Minerva University will be formed to share future-oriented innovative education know-how and to explore creative and practical directions for future university education.

 

President Chang said, “I am very excited to start cooperation with Minerva University, which is attracting attention as an innovative model for future university education worldwide,” and “we expect that Sookmyung Women’s University, which has set the vision of becoming the world’s best digital humanity university, will be able to create synergies for innovation in future university education by collaborating as an official partner of Minerva University in Seoul.”
