President Chang participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Innovation College of Korea Project

The inauguration ceremony of the “Innovation College of Korea Project for Nurturing New Digital Technology Talents” promoted by the Ministry of Education to nurture key talents who will be active in the new technology field was held on September 28th (Tue).

 

 

 

The launch ceremony, held online at 2 pm, was attended by the presidents and the heads of projects of 46 universities selected for the Innovation College of Korea Project, including Eun-hae Yoo, Deputy Prime Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of Education, Kwangbok Lee, President of the National Research Foundation of Korea, and Yunkeum Chang, President of Sookmyung Women’s University.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Eun-hae Yoo said, "Today is a meaningful day as we have the opportunity to inform the public about the meaning and future vision and plan of the Innovation College of Korea Project, which is a major task of the Korean version of the new deal for nurturing new digital technology talents,” and “I hope that the project will foster convergence talents who will be active in the new technology field based on the paradigm of sharing, cooperation and openness.”

 

The presidents of 46 universities and the heads of projects at each university, who participated in the launch ceremony, held an online meeting to discuss ▲building a shared university system in the field of new technology, ▲plan to expand education options in the field of new technology, ▲development and operation of a shareable standard curriculum, and ▲plan to share and spread project results.

 

Sookmyung Women’s University, the only women’s university selected among 46 universities, belongs to the “big data field” among the eight new technology fields of the Innovation College of Korea Project, and is to foster big data core talents through digital-based data analysis and management.
