President Chang gave lecture at the Korea Military Academy and attended a military research seminar

On the morning of October 22 (Fri), President Yunkeum Chang of Sookmyung Women’s University gave a special lecture at the “Ji In Yong (wisdom, benevolence and valor) Academy,” which was held for about 600 cadets at the invitation of the Korea Military Academy.
The “Ji In Yong (wisdom, benevolence and valor) Academy,” is a program conducted to cultivate basic knowledge and establish values for cadets. President Chang gave a lecture on the theme of “The New Normal Era and University Innovation.” Various attempts and achievements of Sookmyung Women＇s University to establish an innovative university were shared, and the necessity of digital competency based on humanity was emphasized.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon of this day, she attended the “2021 2nd Military Research Seminar-Security and Women in the 21st Century” hosted by Hwarang-dae Research Institute.
At the seminar held at the Korea Military Academy’s Chungmu Hall, President Chang gave a congratulatory speech, emphasizing, “The role of women in leadership and the female military is bound to expand further than it is now.” She also added, "The founding spirit of Sookmyung Women＇s University, ＇Cultivate female talents to lead the nation,’ is in line with the spirit of the Korea Military Academy, ‘Cultivate elite officers dedicated to the nation and the people,’ especially with the founding of the women＇s army."
Sookmyung Women’s University established the ROTC for the first time in a women＇s university in 2010, and this year, the university achieved another feat of attracting the air force ROTC.
With this event as an opportunity, it is expected that a stronger mutual cooperative relationship will continue through active exchanges between Sookmyung Women’s University and the Korea Military Academy.
