On December 17th, Sookmyung Women’s University's Research & Business Development Foundation received a Prime Minister's Citation for contributing to resolving local issues led by the residents at the “2020 Fail Management Expo” hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The “2020 Fail Management Expo,” organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, rewards individuals and organizations who have contributed to sharing experiences of failure in various fields and overcoming them under the theme of failure-overcoming-re-challenge through the evaluation of local community problem solving and information sharing.

Since the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Center in 2010, Sookmyung Women’s University has established an industry-academic cooperation-friendly system led by the university, conducted various female entrepreneurship support projects, and operated entrepreneurship education, practice, and investment attraction programs.

In addition, the school has been recognized for its female entrepreneurship program playing a pivotal role in fulfilling the university's social responsibilities despite the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to startups and job creation in local communities, including Yongsan-gu, and playing a leading role in revitalizing the local economy.

Myeong-seok Lee, the Dean of Research & Business Development Foundation, said, “I am grateful that Sookmyung Women's University has received the Prime Minister's Citation in recognition of sharing our cases of start-up failure-overcoming-re-challenge in the rough seas of entrepreneurship and setting the role and direction in step with the untact era. We will make the best efforts to turn Sookmyung Women's University into a hub for female entrepreneurship especially in the field of technology.”
