Sookmyung Women's University and Yongsan-gu Office have established a joint response to make a safe entrance

examination environment before the 2021 admission. On September 23rd, the university signed an agreement in

the administrative office on campus to overcome the infectious disease crisis. Officials from both organizations

were presented at the seat of the agreement, including President Yunkeum Chang and Mayor Jang-yeon Seong.

This agreement has been made to ensure the safety of examinees and their parents visiting the university before

the admission period, and to ease concerns over the spread of COVID-19 in the local communities due to the

influx of outsiders.

Accordingly, during the admission period, the university has decided to form a COVID-19 task force not only

with Yongsan-gu Office, but also with the public health center, police office, and fire station, etc. in the jurisdiction

to take preventative measures and disease control against the current pandemic.

From late October to January, when interviews and performance tests for the entrance examinations are scheduled,

the university will intensively strengthen preventive measures against epidemics at subway stations, bus stops,

and public facilities around the university. Through these measures and with the use of hotlines, transfer time to

the hospital can be reduced and follow-up preventative measure can be carried out immediately if suspected cases

of COVID-19 appear.

President Yunkeum Chang commented, “We acknowledge the fact that many students and parents are facing a lot

of difficulties more than ever, due to this unprecedented pandemic,” she added, “We will cooperate with the local

community to become the safest university in the country, and to free them from COVID-19 concerns under any

circumstances.”
