Sookmyung University seeks to foster “young social entrepreneurs” with SK

Our university has put things in motion to foster “young social entrepreneurs” with SK.
With President Jungai Kang, Chairman of Social Contribution Committee of SK SUPEX Council Choi Gwang-cheol, Executive Director of the SK Happiness Foundation Kim Yong-gap, among others, our university signed an agreement for fostering young social entrepreneurs at the campus Administration Building on March 13 (Tue).
This agreement has been promoted by our university’s Entrepreneurship Engagement Foundation to foster young social entrepreneurs who can optimistically innovate our society by establishing a systematic curriculum that provides overall educational and on-site experiences.
Accordingly, through funding and collaboration to foster social entrepreneurs until 2021, the two institutions will be making plans toward the development of liberal arts curriculum in social innovation, operation of major courses, development of extracurricular courses in social innovation and entrepreneurship, development of entrepreneurship club, etc.
Based on 5 liberal arts and major lectures such as global citizenship education and leadership, entrepreneurship seminar, entrepreneurship workshop, understanding social innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, and venture and social innovation, lectures are to be focused on keywords of fostering talents equipped with social innovation minds and strengthening competencies in social and entrepreneurial spirit.
Chairman Choi Gwang-cheol said, “Sookmyung Women’s University’s curriculum for fostering social entrepreneurs will become a comprehensive education for raising talents that can provide social innovation education and venture experience, and it will become a model example for increasing social entrepreneurs in our society.”
President Jungai Kang expressed her feelings by saying, “I am very pleased that our university, which has been pioneering the cultivation of talents as our nation’s first women studies for the people, can once again lead the development of socially innovating educational curriculum with SK, and we will support and encourage curriculum that can create companions rather than being alone so that we can march further into the future.”
