Sookmyung Women’s University is to join hands with public institutions and private companies to save the local economy.

 

On November 11, at the Yongsan-gu Office, Sookmyung Women’s University entered an MOU to form a regional private-institutional-public-academic consultative group for the revitalization of the Yongsan-gu District with the heads of six institutions in attendance, including Yongsan-gu Office, Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, Shinhan Bank, Yongsan-gu Commerce and Industry Association, and Seoul Entrepreneurs Association.

The institutions participating in the agreement are to jointly cooperate in ▲ creating a vibrant local economy ▲ seeking solutions to management difficulties for small businesses and small business owners ▲ cooperating with small businesses and establishing on-site governance ▲ fostering local commercial areas through the spread of community economy and social economy ▲ policy research and development specialized for small businesses and small business owners, as well as analyzing local commercial areas.

 

Sookmyung Women’s University plans to implement a startup program that fosters prospective entrepreneurs through the Campus Town Project Group, which is operated in conjunction with the Seoul city, and provide consulting for investment attraction. The school also decided to actively promote commercial district and culture, such as improving the design of the signboards and websites in the commercial district and planning cultural festivals that can make use of the local characteristics.

  

President Yunkeum Chang said, "We will work together to develop the local economy by linking various support systems with major private enterprises, public institutions, and educational institutions in Yongsan-gu to create synergy effects."
