Sookmyung Women’s University was designated as a “specialized graduate school for knowledge-based environmental services” for nurturing environmental experts by the Ministry of Environment through a public contest. With this designation as a specialized graduate school specializing in nurturing experts in the fields related to climate and environmental policy models, ESG, and the emissions trading, Sookmyung Women’s University is to receive a total of 1.2 billion won, 400 million won per year, for the next three years. After 3 years, the school will receive additional support for 2 years through evaluation.
According to the designation of the “specialized graduate school for knowledge-based environmental services,” scholarships and personnel expenses are to be provided for full-time and office workers in the master＇s and doctoral programs in Climate, Environment & Energy Studies at the General Graduate Schools and for those in the master’s programs in the Convergence of Climate & Environmental Studies at the Graduate School of Professional Studies. At the same time, various research activities will be supported, such as holding international conferences and participating in conferences for overseas thesis presentations of master＇s and doctoral degree students.
