As part of the LINC3.0 project, the Sookmyung Women’s University Entrepreneurship Engagement Foundation held the “ESG Innovative Startup Ideathon” for two days straight from January 13 (Fri) to 14 (Sat).

Held at Dongdaemun SpaceShare, the ideathon lasted 21 continuous hours in total, which included lectures, idea-making and coaching, pitch-deck creation (investment presentation materials), presentations, and awards. In particular, the event focused on the theme of ESG issues, which have been growing in importance in recent years, and on discovering and enhancing ESG-innovative startup items to capture entrepreneurial opportunities.

A total of 45 students from 11 startup clubs participated in the event, along with Jung-san Oh, Dean of of Research & Business Development Foundation, Chul Choi, Dean of Career Development, ESG specialists, external judges, and mentors for professional coaching. The students stayed up all night brainstorming and creating their presentations, filling the event with enthusiasm.

At the awards ceremony held on the morning of the 14th, the Dadaiksong Team(다다익송 팀) won the Grand Prize with their proposal for an eco-friendly travel information platform that reduces the impact on the planet. The Samsamhagae Team(삼삼하게 팀), which won the Excellence Prize, received high interest and response from the judges as they presented their novel ESG innovative startup ideas, including their proposal for a "silent cafe where hearing- impaired people work for CODA".

"We hope that the startup ideas created by thinking about ESG issues all night and the process will serve as an opportunity for students to take a step closer to the startup scene," and "we will continue to provide startup support events like this in the future to give more students the opportunity to gain good experiences and capabilities through enterprising challenges," said Chul Choi, Dean of Entrepreneurship Engagement Foundation.
