The University Innovation Support Project is a project that supports the strengthening of basic competency and strategic specialization of universities, and the establishment of a system for fostering future creative talents through autonomous innovation of universities. In the type 1 (autonomous agreement) project, which includes Sookmyung Women’s University, A Class (30%), B Class (50%), and C Class (20%) are determined according to the annual evaluation results. Class A and B universities are given incentives based on weighted value, while class C universities are excluded from payment.

Sookmyung Women’s University has received excellent evaluations in △the link between the university's mid-to-long-term development plan and university innovation strategy, △autonomous performance indicators and program operation performance, and △self-assessment system and feedback.

The connection between the university's mid- to long-term development plan and the university innovation strategy was well-presented, and the results of the detailed program operation of the university innovation strategy were evaluated to have been conducted in a substantial manner in comparison to the plan. In particular, the Convergence Capstone Design Cluster, KeyStone Cluster, and CornerStone Cluster design education operation, which are based on the educational innovation model “WISE-Education3[Cube] Model,” was highly evaluated. Differences and innovations were recognized in the program operation performance linked to autonomous performance indicators and in the construction and operation of the Sookmyung-AWS industry-academia consultative group, which is a best practice example. In addition, we received positive evaluation based on the fact that the problems and development directions for education, research, industry-university cooperation, and project management improvement tasks were well presented in detail by establishing a self-assessment system, and through this, very specific feedback activities were confirmed even for the next year's promotion plan.

As a result, Sookmyung Women’s University is expected to receive a budget for the second year of about 5.6 billion won, which is about 1 billion won higher than last year.
