Under the slogan of “Connect, Create, Communicate,” the program offers opportunities to learn English naturally through PE, drama, and art experience activities.

The applications for the program filled up quickly thanks to active interests and participation of students and parents every year, making it a representative community cooperation program. A total of 62 elementary school students from Yongsan District participated in the English camp held for two weeks from January 6 to 17.

The “Science & Art Fair,” which showed the most enthusiastic response among the programs, provided an opportunity for students to think creatively and to acquire language sensibly by providing a chance for the children enjoy learning English through various activities and games.

In line with the English camp’s motto, the creative play was able to present children-led performances. Incorporating science and art contents into the drama, the children created unique stories into plays based on creative ideas even from the preparation of the stage props. Yun-yeong Jang, a TA participant, said “The game activities increased the children’s vocabulary and acted as a catalyst in instilling confidence during the practice of the plays” and “It was very rewarding for us to see the children making efforts to express words in English as much as possible until the successful finale as the curtains came down on the last day.”
