Our university educates citizens of the world with UNESCO

According to this agreement, the two organizations agree to jointly pursue the following -- development and operation of exchanges, education, and training programs for HR development; development of programs specializing in global citizens’ education and international understanding education; joint pursuit and connections regarding the education and culture businesses; and jointly hosting international events, workshops, and seminars.

In addition, the two parties agreed on development of an educational program that spreads ‘world citizens’ education,‘ which is the new educational topic of 2015, at the 2015 World Education Forum, cooperation for joint data research and establishment, and development of a curriculum for UNESCO world citizens’ education.

President Sun-hye Hwang said, “Our university has continuously been in charge of improving international understanding and education, and women’s educational development and policy research in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, focusing on The Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center and the Global HRD Center,” and added, “Korea has developed from a country that received economic aid to a country that provides economic aid. It will therefore be greatly significant if we are among the first to tackle the global issue of world citizen’s education and create an excellent model that can be shared with international society.” Woo-tak Jung of APCEIU aid, “Educating world citizens is an issue that is being emphasized by the UN and UNESCO, and I am happy to participate in the development of a world citizens’ education program together with Sookmyung.”
