On November 19, the invitational lecture by Park Chan-wuk was held at Sookmyung Women's University’s PRIME Center’s Nunggot Square Hall. This lecture titled “The way I make movies” was the third special lecture event under the theme “Designing the Future of Libraries” organized by Sookmyung Women's University’s Main Library. The lecture was attended by a total of 600 people and was held in the form of a talk show focusing on 10 questions received from students in advance and Q&A on the spot.

The Director of the Main Library Si-yeon Moon, who hosted the event, spoke about the purpose of the lecture as she said, “I hope students can have the opportunity to share experiences with the people who have top-level experiences in various fields.”

The first question was “I heard you rarely give lectures at colleges. Why did you decide to come to Sookmyung Women's University and what is your impression of this school?” Film Director Park answered, “I usually try to avoid lectures because of my busy schedule, but I couldn’t shake the thought ‘This is one college I must visit’ because my mother also graduated from Sookmyung Women's University.”

For the following interesting question “Which character would you choose to play if you had to act one of the characters in your movie?”, he answered that it was the spy master of an intelligence agency played by Michael Shannon in his recent movie called “The Little Drummer Girl.” He further explained and said, “I felt a close connection with the character because the character’s job resembles a film director in that he creates a world, fictional characters, and observes the reactions based on their various behaviors.”

After the lecture, Sookmyung Women's University presented a snowflake doll to Film Director Park as a souvenir and had the time for a group photo with the participants.
