In terms of departments, the traditionally strong pharmacy along with literary, arts, and social science fields, which are difficult to find employment in general, showed high employment rates. Other areas such as the Division of Culture & Tourism, School of English, TESL Major, Department of Food & Nutrition, School of Communication & Media, Department of Public Relations & Advertising, Department of Painting, and Division of Business Administration also showed high employment rates of over 70%. Career Development picked the effects from participation in diverse career development, employment/entrepreneurship programs, and government projects as the secret behind the increased employment rate.

With the operation of the student career management system SNOWAY since 2017, Sookmyung Women's University has been systematically managing the student career and competency portal system and providing systematic career search and employment preparation. In order to develop the students’ own careers and competencies based on various curriculum and comparative activities, the school is promoting a self-directed career design projects such as “Design your own class.” The individual competencies developed through such various career/employment programs can be created into a SNOWAY portfolio for job applications.

Sookmyung Women's University was also especially evaluated to have successfully established long experiences and networks with steadfast and active professionals and alumnae in terms of operating onsite trainings. Sookmyung Women's University has never dropped below A-rating in terms of evaluation for government projects that provide a variety of on-the-job training. In addition, while operating diverse short/long-term onsite training programs such as student job experience, Seoul administration internship, industry-university cooperation education, working-level industry internship, and university-hidden champion partnership youth employment projects, our university is operating a system which not only cultivates women talents with the basic competencies, but also excellent working-level competencies.

In addition, other universities are benchmarking our mentoring programs that help students find role models for social advancement.

Thanks to these achievements, Sookmyung Women's University was selected as the only women’s university to achieve excellent university status for 2 years in a row in the 2019 Youth Dream College evaluation that was jointly conducted and announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Dong-A Ilbo.
