“Global Knocker” Executives from Multinational Companies Shares Tips for Working on the Global Stage

The special lecture was a huge success, attended by around 400 soon-to-be-graduates and students interested in working on the global stage but suffering shortage of helpful tips on joining multinational companies. “I hope this lecture helps our student understand the ideal competencies sought by multinational companies and how to join them” said MS. Choi Sunghee, Director of Career Services, in her congratulatory speech.
Mr. Kim Hongbae, Director at Novatis Pharmaceuticals led the first lecture titled, “Effective Strategies for Joining Multinational Companies” and advised the students to “find out what types of services the target company offers and how they align with their areas of interest.”
Next, MS. Part Kyungsook, Director at Conrad Seoul emphasized, the importance of “personal identity”. “You should be able to say who you are. Unfortunately, it is becoming difficult to find an authentic person, who tells her own story.” “Find your own voice first!” she stressed. Last but not least, MS. Chang Sooah, Director at Nike Korea, shared six tips of writing attractive resumes. “It is important that the applicant fully understands the corporative vision and culture of the company,” she added.
In the talk show following the lecture, the three executives had broad discussions with the audience on numerous topics, i.e. cultural conflicts in the company, performance evaluation for financial compensation and/or promotion, gender equality at workplace. “I often wondered about the personal qualities and competencies sought by multinational companies. Today’s lecture was very informative and helpful!” said Kim Sanghyun (Economics 13) after the lecture.
