Sookmyung Women's University was selected as a collegiate university participant for the Campus Town Project and is to receive a maximum project funding of 10 billion won by 2023.

Campus Town is a project undertaken by the Seoul City from 2016 to contribute to the creation of jobs for young people and the vitalization of the local economy by linking universities and communities. It is a new concept of urban regeneration model that combines human, material, and intellectual resources of universities with public resources to serve as a fountain of win-win strategies for local communities.

Sookmyung Women's University was selected as a unit project participant in 2016, and has promoted various programs for 3 years with the aim of revitalizing the Yongmun Traditional Market, revitalizing startup for young people, specializing of Yongsan culture, among others. The newly selected collegiate university status will provide much greater support than the former unit project status, which will allow us to receive up to 2 billion won starting 2020. Through this, we are to promote comprehensive promotion of housing, culture, business, and regional cooperation.

In order to overcome the era of technological changes and the mismatch of local reality, Sookmyung Women's University “Neo-entrepreneurship Project” is to promote the 9UP2 (Nine Up Square) start-up program, which is divided into “enterprise,” “self-employed,” and “new-employed” types, and conducted in 3 steps of “search of potential entrepreneurs → start-up → scale up.” In addition, for the Campus Town project, there are plans to invest a total of 40.2 billion won, which include 9 billion won by Sookmyung Women's University, 31 billion won by Yongsan-gu Office, 200 million won from private sector, etc.
