Held Class of 2017 Summer Commencement Ceremony

Our university held the “Class of 2017 Summer Commencement Ceremony” at the Samsung Convention Center on August 24. President JungAi Kang, Dean of Graduate school HyeGyong Im, and deans of colleges attended the commencement ceremony to congratulate the graduates.
In spite of the terrible weather from wind and rain, a flood of people crowed each corner of the campus as families, friends, and school friends gathered to congratulate the graduates’ new start in life.
Although the commencement ceremony for undergraduates was originally planned for 11am, it was delayed to 1pm due to the effects of Typhoon Soulik. A total of 847 graduates (including 25 graduates from academic credit bank system) received their bachelor’s degree at the ceremony.
After the congratulatory message from the president and chairperson, representative students per college made their way up to the stage and received their diploma from the president and college deans. 5 graduates received the Honor Student Award, award given to students with outstanding grades, and the Achievement Award given by the alumni president went to GyeongAe Na (나경애 in Korean, Department of Computer Science ‘14), who was the 49th Chairperson of the Student Emergency Planning Committee.
382 graduates received their master’s and Ph.D. diplomas at the graduate school commencement ceremony which followed at 3pm at the same location. Among them, 13 graduates who submitted outstanding master's theses were given the Outstanding Thesis Award.
