Our university held the “2019 Early Admission Seminar” on the second floor of the Centennial Hall Samsung Convention Center on August 4.

This admission seminar was prepared to assist the students applying to our school with their preparation for the early admission screening by providing information on the features and changes of Sookmyung Women's University’s early admission screening in the 2019 academic year and analyzed entrance examination results of the previous year.

The admission seminar started at 1pm, and in spite of the scorching weather, 360 examinees and parents showed great interest in the seminar. Officials of Admissions said, “There are screenings (software talent screening) newly implemented in the previous year and partially simplified screenings for Sookmyung Women's University’s rolling screening process in the 2019 academic year. The majority of the screening methods haven’t been changed to minimize potential confusion by examinees and parents.”

They also added, “In order to substantiate high school education, the number of recruits for student’s grade report-oriented screening, which utilizes the student’s grades as the key factor for screening, was increased to 573 students from last year’s 480 students. To also simplify the screening process and alleviate burden on the examinees, our selection is 100% based on documentation by removing interview screening for students from farming and fishing community (excluding quota), students from specialized high schools (excluding quota), and incumbents with specialized high school diploma (excluding quota).”

During the question and answer session which followed the special lecture, there was a wave of questions related to specific tips on writing a self-introduction letter, evaluation methods, preparing for interview, setting career paths, etc. from the parents. They commented that the seminar was very helpful because they were able to get the answers they were seeking based on the previous year’s information.

Meanwhile, 1:1 individual consultation took place for examinees and admission officers in the booths prepared in the 1st floor lobby of the Centennial Hall. The consultations lasted for more than 3 hours as there were additional requests on the spot in addition to the 150 first come first serve applicants who applied beginning from July.
