The admission ceremony that was held with the catch phrase “Sookmyung, a new start of my life!” was prepared to welcome the new students starting their promising college life and their families to the family of Sookmyung and to awaken their spirit of passion and challenge.

The three-part admission ceremony was presided by alumni and SBS Announcer Jeong Mi-seon. The first part of the ceremony kicked off with the new student orientation that began with a video on the school’s history, recent performances, and guide on campus life. Then, the performance from the NIVIS Cheerleaders really turned up the heat in the gym.

The second part of the admission ceremony followed with presentation of the school flag and congratulatory messages from Chairman of the Board Lee Seung-han, President Jungai Kang, and Alumni President Jeong Sun-ok. In addition, pledge by the freshman representative, scholarship certification, and school emblem presentation event also followed.

The new students expressed themselves with great applause and cheers during the powerful dance performance by the campus’ main dancing crew MAX, 112th anniversary performance, and performance by singer and songwriter Jeong Se-un.

The closing of the ceremony was decorated by paper airplane flying event. Back on stage, President Jungai Kang and academic board members welcomed the new students and chanted the school slogan, and the students who folded paper airplanes with their dreams written on them stood up all together and flew them into the air. The Jamsil Gymnasium gathered by more than 3,000 people created a spectacle as the gym was suddenly filled with flying paper airplanes made of dreams.
