The Korean Language Student Day is an end-of-year fellowship event for the foreign students who took the Korean language course at the Lingua Express for the past year to experience our culture and showoff their talents.

The event was divided into 2 parts, and the first part included the completion and graduation ceremony. Lingua Express handed out completion certificates to 92 students who completed the Korean language course last semester. In addition, 5 students who completed the level 6 regular Korean course while attending more than 5 semesters at our university were given graduation certificates. The Director of Lingua Express Lee Hyung-jin and the Head of the Korean Language Center Kim Kyung-ryung also congratulated the students for their effort and completion of their curriculum.

The second part of the event was presided by LinXuxi (China, level 6 completion) student and Lisa Marilau (Germany, level 6 completion) student who completed the Korean language curriculum. The two students kicked off the student talent show. The students danced to hip hop or idol singers’ music or popular music from their own country, and the audience clapped and cheered the participating students.

The first place went to Nokrin (Vietnam) who showed a fantastic dance with a song from a girl group called Black Pink and the second place was taken by Tan (Vietnam) from level 4-B class who sang the song “Fate” by the singer Lee Seon-hui as a parody of a famous scene from the popular Korean drama Dokkaebi. In addition, many other students showed their hidden talents and passion on the stage.

On the other hand, the opening of the Baekiljang Art Exhibition where students can showoff their Korean skills also attracted a lot of attention. The officials of Lingua Express said, “It was a festival that enabled all students learning Korean to come together in one place and showoff their talents and build friendly networks.”
