The Queen of Golf, In Bee Park, pays a surprise visit to Sookmyung University for Pep Talk

Professional golfer In Bee Park, a current student of the Graduate School of International Service of Sookmyung’s University (GSIS), visited the school on September 5th. During her visit, she made a congratulatory speech on inauguration of the new president Jung-Ai Kang and delivered a Rio Olympics-commemorative cap and a flower bouquet. Her presents were meant for the celebration of her winning the Olympic gold medal.
President Kang commented, “Sookmyung wasdeeply moved and inspired by Ms. Park’s victory, won with strong will despite herthumb injury.”
Park enrolled in the GSIS in 2014, majoring in International Public Relations and Public Diplomacy. She completed five semesters of the master’s program and is now ready for graduation.
“As a freshman at the graduate school, I had two goals: achieving the Career Golden Grand Slam and winning a gold medal in the Olympics. I'm just so glad in achieving both goals!" said Park. “I'll put more effort in my studies so that I will be able to contribute to sports diplomacy, when I am given the opportunity."
President Kang promised full support as the queen of golf promotes the status of Korean sports in the international community in the future.
Lastly, Park conveyed a message of hope to the students of Sookmyung University. “Many people dissuaded me in participating the Rio Olympics, when I wasn't able to reach my best with the recent injury of my thumb. But I persevered and stayed focused, and this helped me achieve the great results.” She added,“I hope the students of Sookmyung try to enjoy the struggle and do their best to overcome the challenges. Ultimately they will reach their dreams.”
