The UNESCO-UNITWIN (University Twining and Networking) program was created by UNESCO in 1992, and its purpose is in universities of advanced and developing countries creating a network to help higher education organizations of developing countries develop abilities and build their capacity. UNESCO has selected 48 universities around the world to be hosted by UNITWIN and is pursuing research through cooperation with universities, training, and improved program development.

Our university was recently selected as a UNITWIN university in the "Women’s Empowerment through ICT and Leadership Education" sector. This appears to be the result of our efforts over the years to excavate woman leaders in gender & ICT, and operation of various research and programs to develop their abilities.
