Selected for University Contributing to Normalization of High School Education

Our university was selected as a university with outstanding efforts for university entrance process improvement efforts by the ‘University Contributing to Normalization of High School Business’ of the Korean Council for University Education on Monday, July 20, for the second year following last year. As a result, our university received 900 million won in funds, following 1.4 billion won last year.


This business aims to stimulate improvements in the university entrance system that has a large influence on high school education, and support autonomous improvements of universities. It started last year. A total of 60 universities were selected this year, and an amount between 200 million won and 2.5 million won is provided to each university.

Our university was previously selected for the ‘University Admissions Officer Capacity Reinforcement Support Business,’ which was the previous business of this business, for six years in a row. By being selected for the current University Contributing to Normalization of High School Business two years in a row, it has been selected for eight year in a row, positioning itself as a major university with model admissions operations.


Our university analyzes the background of its selection to be the design of a university entrance plan that can help normalize high school education and reduce the cost of private education. An Admissions Team personnel said, “For rolling admissions, we used the Student Records as much as possible and minimized the weight of the scholastic ability exam, and considered the scholastic ability exam 100% for the regular admissions, excluding arts and sports departments. The simplification of the admissions methods reduced some pressure for applicants.”

In addition, the personnel added, “We provide diverse information for applicants and parents preparing for university entrance through the admissions webzine, the magazine on the comprehensive admissions system, the essay-writing guidebook, and the Admissions Department website,” and revealed, “We plan to provide applicants with useful admissions information in the future through mock interviews, mock essay-writing exams, mock practical exams, and department experience.”


Our university plans to play an active leading role in education activities support such as followup services, reinforced admissions capacity, such as improved expertise of admissions officers and admissions improvement research, and normalization of school education such as high school-university cooperation activities.
