14 foreign students and 9 students from Sookmyung's Cultural Exchange Team experienced pottery making on this day. As they sat in front of the spinning wheels, they worked intensely as they followed the directions of the instructors. You could hear the exclamations as the lumps of clay began to take shape as they spun on the spinning wheel. The students then colored and drew pictures on the baked pottery. They enjoyed themselves as they completed their unique pottery.

After the pottery making event ended, they were transferred to the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan. There, they spent time on the special exhibit on Koryo celadons. The foreign students in particular showed an interest in these beautiful blue Korean ceramics and listened intently to the Cultural Exchange Team guide's explanations. They also examined the pottery of different countries and were able to compare them to the traditional pottery in Korea.

This event was held to promote communication between the domestic and foreign students, using Korean culture as a medium. The Korean Cultural Exchange Institute stated that they conducted a survey in November and that there was a demand for pottery classes.

A Korea Cultural Exchange Institute official stated, "I think that the foreign students were attracted to pottery because it is not a big part of their culture. In the future we will prepare programs that reflect the opinions of the students."
