Chinese Ambassador Delivered Books Donated by Vice Chairman Chen Zhi Li

Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Zhang Xin Shen delivered a thousand books (including Chinese video education materials) donated by Chen Zhi Li, vice chairman of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress of China at video conference room of administration hall of our university at AM 10:30 on March 23 last. The donation of vice chairman Chen Zhi Li includes Chinese language teaching material, training cultural books, videos, dictionaries and articles for teaching. There were also some materials published by Confucius Institute established by Ministry of Education of China for education of Chinese language. President Young Sil Han, Chinese ambassador to R. Korea Zhang Xin Shen, councilor Ai Hong Ge with Chinese Embassy and the chief executive officers attended the event. On donation ceremony, ambassador Zhang Xin Shen said: “The books donated by vice chairman Chen Zhi Li are valuable ones.” “I, as a Chinese ambassador, would like to apply active efforts to increase cooperation between SMU and China especially in the field of teaching.”
President Han addressed: “SMU has close ties with China including Yunnan University.” “To come up with support of vice chairman Chen Zhi Li and ambassador Zhang Xin Shen, all the members of SMU will do the best in nurturing talents to play an important role to promote relation between Korea and China.” After close of donation ceremony, Chinese ambassador Zhang Xin Shen moved to Centennial Memorial Hall and gave a special lecture with the theme “Chinese strategy for development, diplomatic policy and relations between China and Korea” and requested the students that “Korea and China have different social system and all of us should strive for making the relations between Korea and China to be a model of mutual respect and collaborative development between two countries.”
