Sookmyung Women''s University was chosen to participate in 2011 EU-ICI Educational Cooperation Project organized by the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology.
Sookmyung will be conducting a student exchange project between Korea and the EU for Human Resource Development for Multi-cultural Education with three European universities [University of Tubingen (Germany), Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO, France) and Leiden University (Netherlands)] by forming a consortium with Seoul National University and Chonbuk National University for three years beginning from this coming November.

For the project, ten undergraduate students will be chosen every semester and provided with exchange student and internship opportunities through mutual recognition of credits with EU universities. Through this, we expect to not only nourish the talent that will play pivotal roles in Korea- EU cooperation but also establish ourselves as a university that leads the next generation of youth education in guiding the 21st century multi-cultural era.

The International Exchange Team that is planning specific programs along with the universities that are chosen in the consortium explain that in order to take part in EU-ICI program, one needs to have at least 90 points on the IBT and language abilities to attend regular term lectures at European universities. Students wishing to participate should carefully identify and prepare requirements in advance.

EU-ICI Educational Cooperation Project is a program financially supported by the European Union (EU) and targets exchange cooperation with students from advanced industrial nations and Europe. It is being conducted to raise the quality of higher education and vocational training as well as enhance understanding of different cultures.
