Freshman students visited Sookmyung Women’s University campus ahead of their matriculation in March 2025 with fresh excitement. Their eyes, taking their first steps toward their own dreams while exploring various parts of the school with Sookmyung Ambassadors, were full of curiosity and passion.
Sookmyung Communications Team held two campus tour sessions for freshman students with Sookmyung Ambassadors on Tue, Feb. 4 and Thu, Feb. 6. With 50 participants per session, it received a lot of attention, with both sessions closing within 2 hours of registration opening.
Sookmyung President Moon Si-yeun encouraged the freshmen's first start on the second tour session on Feb. 6, and emphasized the importance of university life. President Moon advised, "Your future university life can be further enriched through major courses, extracurricular programs, and club activities," and "It is necessary to participate in school life proactively and understand yourself."
Sookmyung Ambassadors organized the program with the concept of touring a royal school campus so that freshmen could naturally feel affection and pride for the school. They also gave plenty of school souvenirs, such as Sookmyung mascot keychains and pens.
In the morning, an ice-breaking session was prepared to ease tension and get to know each other. Students who formed teams from the same department or college made memories by doing self-introductions, sketchbook games, and famous scene games. For lunch, they visited Sunheon Hall to try the school's cafeteria food, which many freshmen were curious about, and had lively conversations.
In the afternoon, the campus tour introduced various places in the school that freshmen would visit often in the future, including the Sookmyung Heritage Hall and the main library. Department of Media freshman student Lee Ji-min said, "I learned about the history of Sookmyung Women's University at the heritage hall, and seeing the beautiful campus made me feel more affection for the school. I want to do various activities in the future so that I can make lifelong friends at university!"
Sookmyung Ambassadors President Lee Si-hyeon said, "As the person in charge of students' first impression of Sookmyung, I participated in the entire event with a deep sense of responsibility, and I was glad to be able to share excitement and passion as I watched the freshmen actively participate throughout the event."
