Sookmyung Women’s University has officially opened its campus souvenir store “Snow Shop (#)” on the first floor of the Student Hall, conveniently located near the main gate of Campus 1. The new store offers a wide range of university-branded goods—including clothing, hats, and bags—all in one place for easy access.

The opening ceremony was held on the morning of Monday, September 8, organized by the university’s Entrepreneurship Engagement Foundation. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by President Moon Si-yeun, Vice President Wee Kyung-woo, and other faculty members, marking the store’s official launch. After a soft-opening period beginning in mid-July, ‘Snow Shop’ officially opened its doors to the campus community that afternoon.

The shop carries not only new merchandise such as apparel, bags, umbrellas, and tumblers, but also popular existing items previously distributed by the Office of Communications & PR—including brooches, school emblems, and business card holders. In addition, new lines of stationery and fancy goods—highly favored by students—are set to be released soon.

Snow Shop is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (including lunch hours) and is closed on weekends and public holidays. During vacation periods, it will operate on a shortened schedule. To celebrate the grand opening, the store is running a two-week 10% discount event on select items through Friday, September 19.

The store quickly drew enthusiastic crowds on its first day. Kim Eui-joo (Class of ’25, Dept. of Education), who visited with a friend, commented, “It was nice to see all the school merchandise gathered in one space. The chargers and power banks with the school logo are reasonably priced and useful, and I think Snow Shop-branded mouse pads, iPad sleeves, or Apple Pencil cases would be really popular too.”

Beyond selling merchandise, Snow Shop also features prototype and idea products developed by faculty, students, and alumni start-ups, serving as a testbed to showcase Sookmyung’s entrepreneurial achievements and gauge consumer reactions. Plans are also underway to host pop-up stores to further support and promote student entrepreneurship.

Sohn Jong-seo, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Professor of Entrepreneurship, stated, “Snow Shop will go beyond being just a Sookmyung merchandise store. We aim to expand it into a platform that promotes and sells products from Sookmyung’s entrepreneurs. We look forward to making Snow Shop a proud space that shares the dreams and memories of the Sookmyung community, and we welcome everyone’s support in this journey.”
