Eight Sookmyung Professors Named Among World’s Top 2% Scientists

Eight professors from Sookmyung Women’s University have been listed among the “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025,” jointly announced by Stanford University (USA) and global academic publisher Elsevier.
The list is based on a composite indicator (c-score) developed by a research team at Stanford University to evaluate the research impact of scholars worldwide. Using Elsevier’s Scopus database, the assessment covers all indexed publications and includes researchers who have published at least five papers.
The rankings are divided into two categories: Career-long impact (covering research achievements from 1960 to 2024) and Single-year impact (reflecting research performance in 2024).
In the Career-long category, the following Sookmyung professors were selected:
Prof. Kim Yoon-young (Dept. of Mechanical Systems Engineering)
Prof. Yang Mi-hee (College of Pharmacy)
Prof. Kim Byung-gyu (Dept. of Artificial Intelligence Engineering)
Prof. Kang Young-sook (College of Pharmacy)
Prof. Ryu Jae-ha (College of Pharmacy)
In the Single-year 2024 category, the honorees include:
Prof. Kim Yoon-young (Dept. of Mechanical Systems Engineering)
Prof. Kang Kyo-bin (College of Pharmacy)
Prof. Park Min-woo (Dept. of Chemical and Biological Engineering)
This recognition highlights the global research excellence of Sookmyung scholars across diverse disciplines such as engineering, pharmacy, and artificial intelligence.
