Guidance on returning to school procedures (with changes)

The application process for returning to school

 

Issue a new certificate of admission > Issue D-2 VISA > Apply for a return to school from the portal

 

 

Issuing Certificate of Admission for D-2 visa

 

Please inform ISS of your return(studyabroad@sookmyung.ac.kr) beforehand to be issued a new certificate of admission(표준입학허가서). 

Students that need to obtain a D2 visa must contact ISS and go through the visa application process.

 

  • The Certificate of admission will be issued from the 1st week of August and will be sent to students after 7 working days.
  • The schedule can be delayed depending on the situation. 
  • Please kindly understand that we can't answer all the personal questions about COA for efficiency.
  • It is not allowed to apply for COA after the registration period, and please remind that you can't enter in Korea without COA.
  • Please read carefully the notice below and keep the due date.

 

 

Required documents to issue the certificate of admission

①  Preliminary application 

②  Documented proof of your financial ability ($20,000) 

③ Final academic certificate 

[the original ②+③ must be sent to the International Student Service Team by post] 

A copy of your passport

 

* Submit a family relationship certificate when submitting financial proof documents in the parents' name.

 

 Please submit the documents above by 2022.07.27 (Wed) to studyabroad@sookmyung.ac.kr and post the required documents to

 Please be informed that you SHOULD register your “return to school (복학)” via SMU portal according to SMU academic schedule as below

  • Application (Registration) period: 2022.08.01 (Mon)
  • Fulfill your online application on the internet as follows

[Sookmyung Portal System at https://portal.sookmyung.ac.kr/irj/portal] → [학사 Graduate] → [학적 Register] → [복학 Return to School]

  • In order to register for courses in Fall 2022, returning to school registration and tuition payment should be completed beforehand.
 

 
 
 

Students planning to return to school should submit the requirements within the period mentioned above.
