2011 Asian and African Women's Conference
Sookmyung Women’s University plans to host an international conference, in the title of “2011 Asian and African Women’s Conference” in the upcoming October.

n Pre-conference: Cultural Festivals for Asian and African Women’s Friendship
n Plenary session: Primary and Secondary Education, Higher Education for Women, Education programs for Women’s empowerment
n Roundtable meeting
※ Student-based academic conference will be organized apart from the plenary session and roundtable meeting for senior experts.
- Participants: domestic and foreign experts in the field of women’s education (governmental officers, scholars, professors, specialists of international organization)
※ Around 10 undergraduate and graduate students from Asian and African regions will be recommended by the foreign guests and be invited to this conference, too.
- Official Language: English
What would be the main activities for student participants?
- Prepare for and show traditional cultural performance for the cultural festival on the pre-conference day
- Write a report, present, and discuss about topics related with women’s education of your home country as a speaker or panelist
- Participate in the roundtable meeting to establish agenda for young student leadership and friendship for the purpose of a continuous network

※ Both undergraduate and graduate students can apply.
※ Students who plan to go back to the home country prior to October are not eligible for this application.
Application Schedule
① Deadline for Application: 2011. 05. 13(Friday)
★ If you want to participate in the conference as a speaker or a panelist, you are additionally required to submit a short report written in English (within A4 2pages) about the related topics with Asian and African women, or women’s education.
② Face to face interview for applicants is planned after the application submission.
