Admission Open for the International Students
Office of International Affairs will take the admission part for the international students of Graduate School of Professional Studies from spring admission 2011.
1) Application and application fee due on Nov. 23 (Tues) ~ Nov. 30 (Tues) 17:00, 2010
2) Interview and oral exam on December 4 (Sat), 2010
3) Announcement of Acceptance is scheduled on Dec. 14(Tues), 2010
1) One who has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Korea or abroad before February 2011
2) ① Foreign student whose parents are both foreigners ② Students who have studied abroad for elementary, middle & high school and undergraduate degree.
3) Applicants should have the score of TOPIK level 3(or higher) or English score -TOEFL 550, CBT 210, iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550, MATE-Speaking CL/Writing MH, etc or higher.
① Korean or other national Government Scholarship students will follow the regulation provided from the government.
② Applicants of arts and physical education: TOPIK level 2(or higher), English score-TOEFL 523, CBT 193, iBT 70, MATE-Speaking CE/Writing MM etc. or higher)
③ Applicants who got the BA or MA degree in Korea, or who graduate the major of Korean language or who completed Korean language course KFL 4 at LinguaExpress of SMU will be exempted the submission of Korean language score.
※ Final accepted students who have registered and do not have any score of Korean language or English language must take the Language Proficiency Exam at the Sookmyung International Language Institute (www.lingua-express.com). If the result is below the average criteria, one has to go on a leave of absence and complete the language course in order to obtain the average standard mentioned above.
4) You can apply your preferred major regardless your primary major or GPA.
※ If you are using internet application, you are to pay the fee and additional commission.

■ Public Policy/Clinical Pharmacy/International Service/Traditional Culture and Arts(Traditional Dietary Life Food)/HRD for Women/Social Education (Play Therapy, Eurhythmics, Leadership Education, Golf Management, Beauty Art)/Distance Learning: ￦80,000
■ Life Style Design/Music Therapy/Traditional Culture and Arts(Traditional Dance, Traditional Music) : ￦90,000
■ TESOL: ￦100,000
■ Social Education School(Piano Pedagogy) : ￦120,000

② Graduated (to be) certificate and Degree certificate
③ Official University Transcript
④ Certificate of facts Concerning Entrance and Exit and Alien Registration Card(Corresponding parents and student only)
⑤ Letter of Recommendation
⑥ Activity Record (Form Provided)
⑦ Official documents indicating family relationship between the applicant and her parents
⑧ Certificate of Foreign Nationality (Parents and Student: a copy of citizenship or passport)
⑨ Korean Language skill test score TOPIK
⑩ TESOL Applicants should also attach these further forms
Resume in English / Study Plan in English (Each A4 One page, around 500 words)
-SMU-TESOL or YL-TESOL transcripts- if you have taken it
- SMU-TESOL or YL-TESOL - Those who are were to take this, needs Enrollment recommendation letter
⑪ One page of current service (Resume) certificate
- Only for Special Education, TESOL: Elementary/Middle/High School teacher admission
※ We might ask you to bring other further documents than the ones listed
※ All documents in other languages except Korean or English must be submitted with authorized Korean or English translation.
※ Documents and Certificates from school abroad should be submitted with an Apostille affixed. Nationals of countries that have not signed the Apostille treaty must get verification from the local Korean consulate. Please refer to the Matter of Notice when Submitting Documents from schools abroad

※ If you cannot participate in the interview test due to your staying in overseas, ‘Study and Research Plan’ should be submitted by handwriting and the interview will be processed by phone call.
※ Students who have obtained their bachelor’s and master’s degree in China must submit the ‘Chinese Higher Education Academic History Fact Report’ issued from the Ministry of Education Academic Approval Center (http://www.chsi.com.cn).
※ The required documents must be sent by mail and are accepted until Nov. 30(Tue) 17:00, 2010
