Certificate of Enrollment and transcript

- The document was issued online and can not be verified the originality (no stamp or signature)

- The document does not state my registration for current semester

Passport

- Unclear or uploaded upside down

Photo

- File error, can not be opened.

- Not JPG

- Black and white photo

Financial document

- Though the sponsor is my father or mother, not attaching official family relationship documents in Eng or Korean.

- There is no sign or stamp on the document submitted.

Health Insurance

- Even if you plan to sign up for health insurance in Korea, you need to submit the document that "I will be signing up for the health insurance later" section.

If this is the only document that needs to be updated, we will have the health insurance section"rejected" yet approve your application.

Medical Check-Up

- Even if you plan to take the x-ray upon your arrival in Korea, note that you need to submit the personal and official documents.

Make sure to add memo on the x-ray section that "I will be taking x-ray upon my arrival in Korea within 7 days"

Home Univ program coordinator Email address

- DO NOT write your email. It must be your home univ program coordinator＇s email.

If not, we will delete it without extra notes.

Non-OECD applicants

- Upload the documents of either apostille or consular certified(영사확인) documents depending on your countries.

We will "reject" unless the final documents are uploaded and will approve the application when we receive the hard copy at Sookmyung.

◆ Medical Check-up

X-ray is mandatory. Important Info

If you are planning to take it in Korea, please write a note on the 2nd page that you will be taking it in Korea within 7 days of arrival.

If you plan to take it from home country, it is required to submit issued with 90 days of your arrival, so we recommend it to be done,

- Spring semester : After Jan 1st

- Fall semester : After July 1st

** Please do note that the embassy of Korea in your country may require the x-ray result at the time of visa application. **

- If you have difficulty taking X-ray in your home country, please refer to the below.

Though not officially affiliated, it is one of the hospitals noticed by our international dormitory, approx. 10 min walk from the dorm.

Please make sure you take the test within 7 days of arrival. 

In any case, you are COVID19 confirmed case, you need to have it done after qurantine is finished.

Usually it does not require reservation.

We require health insurance certificate that will cover as below.

: Your depatature from home coutnry <> Until you depart Korea

* National health care (mandatory for all exchange students) will be automatically initiated when the student receives foreign registration card and number. Note that as it is usually taking up to 2 months now, we would recommend as below.

Also note that we highly suggest you to be under your personal insurance that is covered in Korea,  for any unexpected accidents.

1) Departure from home country <> First two months in Korea : private insurance that covers abroad --- needs to be uploaded on the system

2) After two months(assuming that foreign registration card has been issued) : Automatically under national health insurance

Example 

Arrivate date in Korea (Aug 15th) , Departarting Korea (Dec 22)

Private insurance : Aug 15th~Oct 20

Korean national health insurance : Oct 20~Dec 22

* If your health foreign registration card is issued earlier than expected, there may be overlapping period of both insurance.

Note that it is very important to have your health insurance covered, as there are cases of getting hurt, or going to hopsital unexpectedly.

Even if you are covered under health insurance from your home coutry, Korea NHIS is mandatory for all international students.

* If you are GKS exchange students, make sure to check the guideline pdf attached.

FAQ. What if I will only be able to submit consular certified/apsotilled documents after Nov 15 or May15, the online application deadline?

- We suggest you to have consular certified/apsotilled documents uploaded by Nov 15 / May 15.

- If taking too long, we suggest you to upload the consular certified/apsotilled  once it is done for our record even after Nov 15. and request in advance via email, as we would need to open the system.

- Please do not upload NOT certified/aposilltee documents, as we will reject it, and letter of acceptance can only be given when receive both e-copy and hard copy.
